Rush--Pi Kappa Phi

Prospective Members

BROTHERHOOD Perhaps the single most important element in the fraternal experience, brotherhood is the foundation upon which Pi Kappa Phi is built. With over 20 active and 500 alumni, Pi Kappa Phi offers a richly diverse atmosphere, which is an ideal environment that aids brothers in excellence. Brotherhood is ever present in the social, philanthropic, and scholastic efforts of the house. From friendly conversations at dinner to the shared excitement of an intramural event, brotherhood silently works to make a campus seem much more inviting.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP Unlike many other Chapters, we refer to our newest members an "associate" rather than pledges to emphasize our commitment of mutual respect and non-hazing ideals. The primary responsibility of an associate is to maintain the highest possible standards of scholarship. Pi Kappa Phi encourages this through a program including  academic monitoring, and tutoring. Pi Kappa Phi associate membership is extremely rewarding and is a model program in West Alabama's Greek community.

SCHOLARSHIP Pi Kappa Phi is committed to helping its members achieve the highest standards of scholarship. Tools used to enhance academics include a two hour study hall every week, that is mandatory if you are under a 2.25GPA. However we strongly advise brothers and associates to spend their free time to achieving their academic potential. Brothers have achieved their scholastic ability by being inducted into various academic societies such as; Phi Eta Sigma, Alpha Chi, Cardinal Key, and Phi Kappa Phi. Academic success is not just mentioned at Pi Kappa Phi, it is expected.

ATHLETICS Pi Kappa Phi actively competes in the Greek intramural division, sharing many victories through the years. Both actives and associates may participate in any of the teams, from our softball team to our football, basketball team  volleyball teams ect. The excitement of intramural sports competition is immeasurable, and Pi Kappa Phi has made the commitment to be the best.

PHILANTHROPY One of the best college experiences is making Pi Kapp brotherhood work for the benefit of those around you. Pi Kappa Phi has the distinction of being one of only a few national fraternities which has founded and currently operates its own charitable organization, PUSH America. It serves to raise funds and awareness that benefit people with disabilities. Recognized as the top donating chapter at UWA for several years, Pi Kappa Phi prides itself on service. From community fundraisers to hands-on service projects, Pi Kappa Phi is making a difference throughout the nation.

LEADERSHIP Pi Kappa Phi always provides a large delegation of leaders throughout the West Alabama Campus. Currently, our active members hold half of all SGA positions. Pi Kapps also hold prominent positions in many other campus organizations including Campus Activities Board, Interfraternal Council President , Ambassador, and Orientation Leader. Pi Kappa Phi has truly set the standard for fraternities in campus leadership.

GREEK LIFE Fraternities offer numerous advantages that allow young men to make the most of their college experience. Fraternities are more that a place to live, they allow men to grow and form friendships that will last a lifetime. Fraternal emphasis on scholarship, philanthropy, athletics, and brotherhood allows men to face challenges that will prepare them to be better individuals. These challenges will help brothers strive for excellence throughout the rest of their lives.

Today Pi Kappa Phi is a Fraternity of over 140 Chapters throughout the country, with more than 75,000 initiated members
